CIVIC
About the Honda Civic
The Civic has gone through no less than 10 generations since it was first launched in the '70s in Japan. It’s a long-time favourite hatchback that suits families and the everyday driver, but is well-loved by seasoned petrolheads.
Honda is known for constructing reliable cars, and the Civic continues this trend by being extremely dependable. The quality shines through on the inside and outside of the car, and it feels superb on the roads.
A used Civic Prestige is the one to choose if you want extra touches like chrome door handles and heated seats, but the entry-level models are still comfortable and function in a way that doesn’t feel like anything is missing.
What features does the Honda Civic have?
The entry-level Civic is a great option if you’re after something simple and laid-back, but you can boost this up by moving to a mid-range model like the Civic SR. The latest SR models get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus parking sensors.
Other models include leather seats, a rear-view parking camera, and a touchscreen infotainment system that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connection, plus sat-nav.
A used Civic EX is a top choice for all the comfort and driver features you need, without the added sporty styling of the top-spec models. You’ll get an opening glass roof, improved audio system, and multi-view parking cameras in the latest models.

What is the Honda Civic like to drive?
Thanks to Honda’s reputation for building high-quality engines, the Civic is fun to drive while also being cheap to run.
There are two petrol engines on offer and one diesel engine. You can opt for a six-speed manual gearbox or seven-speed with the petrol-powered Civic, while the diesel is only available as a manual.
The 1.0-litre petrol engine is perfect for pottering around town, while the more powerful 1.5-litre petrol is much better on the motorway and for longer journeys.
The 1.5-litre version is very nippy, with a 0-62mph in 8.2 seconds and will do an average of 44mpg. So, you get a strong performing, yet efficient engine – it’s a win, win!
